The love of one painting and colored glass came to determine the colors of my newly refurbished kitchen. With paint and new checkered vinyl on the floor it is a both cheap and quick renovation. Before, the color of the kitchen walls was beige, and the floor was very worn.
The walls have been painted white, except the end wall, which has been given a beautiful deep green. All colors in the kitchen are based on the beautiful painting on the end wall.
The checkered floor fits well with the windows and lifts the room and gives it edge. In addition, a checkerboard floor is classic, and something used many centuries back.
The table, painting, chairs, glass, rug, figurines and the lamp are all bought used.
The renovation has been cheap and fast, but the result is very visible.
If you have a picture that you are particularly fond of, try to use this as a starting-point. The worst thing that can happen is that you need to re-paint the color of the wall ;0)
