For me, it is just as important to decorate the garden in exciting spaces as it is to decorate inside my house. I love going from garden room to garden room and experience nature, plants and gardening.
The old Sir Edwards Lutyen’s garden bench needed a round of paint and of course it had to be lacquered too.
You will need 2 poles(10 x 10 cm x 3m.) and 2 poles (10 x 10 cm. x 2.7m.), 2 bags of pole concrete, a pole drill, a broom and a jug of water.
It’s not hard to build the gallows. Drill two holes with a pole drill, about 70 cm. deep. Place the pole in the hole, level it out so that they stand straight and are just far down the ground, put some of the soil down around the pole and stamp the ground around the post with the end of a broom. Next, fill the hole with the pole concrete up to about 10 cm. before the grass edge and stamp the concrete with the end of the broom. Pour water into the hole on top of the concrete and put soil in the hole until it reaches the ground edge. Let it harden until the next day.
Cut 4 sloping 90 degrees of one pole (2.7m.) so they measure 46cm. on the long end and 28cm. on the short end. Take the second pole (2.7m.) and cut the ends obliquely. Place the poles on the 2 embedded posts, measure out so that it protrudes equally out on both sides of the poles and drill it onto the 2 casted poles. Next, the 4 struts are drilled into the poles.
The plate is hung up in 2 hooks in two 75 cm copper chain. I have drilled 2 holes in the copper plate and put 2’s hooks in between the chain and the plate.
It took me 3 days to make and paint the gong gong and the bench. It won’t be the last garden art I’m going to do. It’s been great fun ;0)

I love this picture of my old father and his old friend.
