BLUE AND YELLOW IN THE LIVING ROOM

Renovation of my old house is time consuming and fun, however it does not need to be expensive. With paint on the walls and new carpets combined with a lot of recycling, you get far with little money.

In the blue living room, the walls were originally white, and the carpet was gray. Those colors do not bother anyone, but in my opinion, nor do they do any good. For me it is practically the same as food without spices.

The living room is now painted in a blue color from Jotun, Nordic sea, and the carpet is golden. The black cabinet is an heirloom from my great-grandmother, and I have added golden edges and fun knobs. The chair and small wooden box are second hand finds, while Franz Marcs’ yellow horses is a poster that has been framed.

The pretty table with tiles is homemade of 20 hand-painted tiles, which my mother painted 5 years before I was born.

Mouth-blown champagne flutes with stripes, blue bohemian carafes and blue-fluted centerpiece are from second hand shopping bargains and they are in the company of Pjerrot from Medusa and Harlequin from Murano Glass.
