Christmas with Tintin DIY cone

I love Tintin. He has always been a part of my life and I loved reading Tintin comics as a child. I still do. So of course, there must be Tintin cone on my Christmas tree.

Tintin is a series of comic book albums created by the  Belgian  cartoonist  Georges Remi (1907–1983), who wrote under the pseudonym  Hergé. The series is one of the most popular European  comics  of the  20th century with translations published in more than 50 languages and more than 200 million copies sold until 2003.

The series first appeared in France on 10 January 1929 in Le petit vingtième, a weekly children’s supplement to the Belgian newspaper Le XXe siècle. The success of the series saw the continuous tapes published in Belgium’s leading newspaper Le Soir and in a successful Tintin magazine. Hergé created Studios Hergé, which produced the series with a total of24 albums. Tintin’s experiences have subsequently been adapted for radio, television, theatre  and film.

I found pictures of Christmas Tintin motifs on the web and printed them out on paper. Next, I made a cardboard shape by, with a pair of compasses, drawing a quarter circle. I place the cardboard shape on the picture prints, on the part of the picture I would like to use, and I draw with a pencil around the cardboard shape.

Next, I cut out strips of tulle and wrinkle sewn them on a sewing machine. You can also wrinkle sew it by hand.

With a glue gun, I’ve glued the tulle wrinkle strips to the back of the cone.

Next, with glue gun I glued zigzag ribbon on, along the edge at the top.

Cut out long thin strips for the handle and glue them on. On these paper cones I have sprayed glue on the tips and sprinkled snow glitter on. Enjoy ;0)
