MASTER CREATORS PROGRAM 7, FROM DISCARDED TABLECLOTHS FROM THE STEAM LAUNDRY TO MARRAKECH

We made it to MesterSkaberne program 7 on DR1.

In the small task, chaos was to be cleaned up in the entrance area. Build a shoe storage so that shoes are placed nicely and not thrown into piles inside the front door. The material that must be used – discarded tablecloths from steam laundries. For us, it was a nice task as fabric was involved ; 0) It can never go wrong with fabric.

We chose to sew 3 large fabric bags lined with eco-friendly bigbags, which is a strong material and can be cleaned with a wet cloth. Anton welded a nice mounting, which was sprayed blue with remnants of spray paint from our mosaic table.
An easy and simple solution that takes up minimal space in the hallway. In our opinion, it was not an option to produce a large piece of furniture that would take up precious space in the hallway. Whether you fall over furniture or shoes is in principle the same. The art is, in our opinion, to clear the space from obstacles.

The big job – make a storage piece for clothes etc. of an outworn dryer.

Well it is obvious that when the dryer is worn out you think – I will build a wardrobe! – maybe not. I don’t think so. But we just did! Well, it wasn’t as easy as it was said.

As always when Anton and I are using recycled items in the process, it is about using as much of the recycled items as possible. This is simply part of our concept.
Anton wanted to transform the non-charming scrap pile into something artistic and organic and hence the idea of the trees was born. From the shelves with items to recycle we found different pieces of fabric and this was when we come up with the idea of making the wardrobe shelves out of fabric instead of, as usual, out of wood.
We were scolded for having too many different fabrics in our furniture, but our recycling ideas is that you use what you have at hand, so it become a mix of what is available, and we liked this expression.

Our storage furniture was given an adventurous and dreamy expression and reminded me of Marrakesh.
It became the organic and artistic piece of furniture that we wanted to create and the end result was far from the heavy and dull dryer.

The process of creating the furniture was hard and fun and we are very content with the result.
Anton and I had to leave MesterSkaberne at this point in time. It has been an experience and a journey of dimensions and something we will never forget. We have learned that EVERYTHING can be done, and it is possible to build anything, as long as you have an open mind and sees opportunities instead of limitations.

We have been in the company and under the influence of the most wonderful and creative brains and we have gained valuable new friendships. THANK YOU to all of you amazing people who made this possible and believed in us. THANK YOU to everyone who has followed us and read our thoughts and history on this blog.

I’ll be surprised if we may not be appearing in program 8…
